So I am going to try something completely new here, bringing the intimacy and power of ATKY home to you! Often yoga sessions presented online do not seem as intimate as the ones delivered in real life. This will be different here where we ask you to partner up with someone you trust enough to embark on this journey together, making a space of more privacy and intimacy. Energy knows no boundaries and so the energy field created in the group matrix will serve to support you on this exploration of your physical and energetical being. Everyone can participate and there is no requirement for previous experience (you could also join alone in order to learn from the session for later use). Link to the event: fb.me/e/1zKAs5BML See you next Wednesday 14/10 (this will be a weekly event, the first one is free)!

The art of Surrender: Being in India for 3 months (the last 5 weeks under lockdown) has, and is, teaching me what surrendering means. I could make it sound very gracefull and carefree, but often surrender has been the only choice left after realising I've been out of moves. The teachers I honor and listen to all speak about letting go of the illusion of (mind) control, to let be. Even so I`ve found myself, again and again, grasping for control even when there has been clear signs to relinquish. This lockdown has made it impossilble to run away from the fear and resistance when they have come crashing at the gate, wave after wave. But, this water is Myself, calling me Home. #atky #ancienttantrakriyayoga #tantra #kriya #yoga #surrender #control #india #lockdown #corona #covid19

Wish you all a loving Christ(Mas) ♥ "Each year at Christmas time there are stronger than usual vibrations of Christ-love and joy that emanate to earth from the heavenly realms. The ether becomes filled with the Infinite Light that shone on earth when Jesus was born. Those persons who are in tune through devotion and deep meditation feel in a wondrously tangible way the transforming vibrations of the omnipresent consciousness that was in Christ Jesus" – Paramahansa Yogananda [Second Coming Of Christ]

Thanks to all who was there last Thursday. I wanted to share this little video in gratitude to everyone who has been to one of the ATKY sessions 🙏 In the last session I shared this little mantra with a song I got from Jakob Weise (and amazing musician doing Kirtan in Copenhagen). Mantra singing is not about getting all the words right or singing beautifully. It has many layers. One is to honor the divine in form of a deity, at the same time honoring our own divinity. Mantras stills the mind and bring vibrations to the body that (in my experience) calms the nervous system and bring joy and peace in the present moment. Perhaps this is not transmuted through a video, the best way is to sing yourself 😉 Even though I am not "Christian", I do feel a deep resonance with Jesus and the love he shared. Many gurus in India see him as a holy prophet who, like many others, came to share the wisdom of divinity in all of us 🕉 I wish you all a wonderful Christ(mas). Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya (Om, salutations to the divine One who dwells in all) ❤️

Tomorrow, Thursday at 19 o'clock, will be the last #journey into #tantra #kriya #yoga for this year! At times we might feel as if steering a big ship, not sure if we can handle it or where we'll end up. But the best starting point is to remember that we are already on the ocean: You are not a drop on the ocean, You are the entire ocean in a drop. - #rumi Looking forward to meet you 🙏

I am not too fond of statements like “stages” of awakening, but this description from the Trika Shaivism, as described in the video by Cristopher Wallis, hits home for me as a way to find our anchor point before we start our transcendence journey. Ãnava-samāveśa: Samāveśa means immersion and ānava mean soul. So ānava-samāveśa means soul immersion into your essence nature. This is a phenomenal experience, even though you are already that. We usually identify with the body, thoughts, and emotions but at this “stage” it feels like a shift of experience, the locus of your identity from your body-mind into your Divine essence. The content of thought and feelings doesn’t describe you anymore. It’s a process to abide here as a default state, instead of being a visitor with practices, i.e it’s before remembering. It does not mean pushing away thought-emotion and it does not mean bypassing. It simply means no longer making a self out of them. Until you've stabilized in your absence nature as your default state, don't worry about any of the other phases of awakening, you get tastes of them, but you need to stabilize this first, like an inner Anchor Point. The signs and of awakeness: When we hear them, we'll be very tempted to say; “oh yeah I want to act more like that”, but it needs to be organic, it needs to be authentic, and it needs to come naturally. If you are successful to some degree at imitating the signs of awakening and then get praised for that, it will build a spiritual ego and there's little motive to do the real work. Am I acting or being authentic, it's important not to fake it to you make it but to keep inviting in this stabilization of awakening: - Total self-acceptance - Clarity; seeing clearly doesn't mean you can necessarily articulate it perfectly, but you're seeing with clarity of view and not cobwebs of confusion. - An inner strength, the wisdom and the clarity to take responsibility for your inner state, you never think or feel that others are to blame for how you feel. - Sober connection to your real situation (moment to moment) instead of being lost in fantasy or reverie (i.e. past) or worry or anxiety (i.e. future) - Ability to reflect on your mistakes without self-hatred or shame - Being free of attachment to praise and blame - Effortlessness so most of life feels like ease and flow. An effort that you put forth that's in alignment with your true nature. - Having a strong energy body that can digest virtually any experience. The easiest thing in the world to build a spiritual ego, that's simply a shinier replacement for your previous non-spiritual ego, and it's not as a very challenging thing to do. I will not cover the higher states here, even though I do have beautiful glimpses since I feel I still have enough work to do at my anchor points 🙏 Redacted and edited Transcript from “The 3 phases of awakening” by Christopher Wallis

How you might feel when doing Drishti (eyegazing) 😂 Even though the intention with Dristhi usually is sense withdrawal - i.e. an internal concentration of attention while gazing at external objects - in Tantra we are not suppressing pleasurable energies, embracing them without judgment, but also not expecting a certain outcome, making it flow through our body unobstructed by shame, fears, or taboos. Looking forward to seeing you tonight ❤️

Ancient Tantra Kriya Yoga - Denmark

Why the statement "everything happens for a reason" is profoundly true, but also potentially distorting the truth, as a spiritual bypass. Important contemplation for anyone who wants to face their own shadows! These two articles by Christopher Wallis put a spotlight on this, which I feel is so important in the search for truth, and I must admit I can relate to both sides. Below I'll quote some passages and describe how I can relate: " "It’s all part of God’s plan” or “There's an unseen deeper purpose to this” or “It’s part of a deeper pattern that’s intrinsically meaningful and that you should trust even though you don’t know what it is” or “The universe is trying to tell me/you something,” all of which are problematic because these ideas are often used in a fashion that supports spiritual bypassing or wishful thinking. When the cause of a painful event is posited as invisible or inaccessible (such as assigning it to God or an indiscernible plan instead of human interactions and human fallibility) then it discourages us from soberly investigating the part we played in bringing about that event" "When we’re talking about deep and fundamental truths, getting it a little bit wrong doesn’t matter in the short run, but it does in the long run, just like a tiny adjustment to the rudder of your boat makes little difference at first, but after 1000 miles, it lands you on a different continent". I have to admit that I've been, and still are, using the above strategy sometimes, to soothe the emotional impact of the painful reality of an event and trying to, intellectually, see the positives in all things. "it’s important to note that if a Near Enemy (i.e. a view that is close to the truth, but a bit distorted) is near enough, it can actually be a Temporary Ally for a beginner. But as the stakes get higher in spiritual practice, there is no such thing as ‘close enough’ anymore". I feel I've come to a place where I can't use the above bypasses if I want to go deeper into my own shadows. "In Tantrik scripture: nāśivaṃ vidyate kvisit(Svacchanda-tantra 4.314) means both “Nothing exists that is not God” and “Nothing exists that is not a blessing”... all events contain potential blessings, and the more intense the event, the more potential blessing-energy it contains. The events we call ‘painful’ or ‘challenging’ are more accurately called “events that require work to extract their blessing energy” " So, the difference is very subtle. Is this an intellectual idea I've repeated so often to convince myself that the mere belief in it makes it so? Or is it a deep inner knowing, intuition, feeling that obliterates the worries and brings a deep sense of gratitude, relief and joy? One way of doing this discernment is beautifully described: "Be intimate with the emotional energy, without identifying with it (making a self out of it). When it has finished moving through (at least, for the time being), you feel into the Center, the still point, the inner core of your being, and you ask the inner wisdom to reveal the innate blessing(s) in the event. Be careful not to jump to a comforting thought that may or may not be true; feel your way, carefully and honestly, organically and vulnerably, into what innate wisdom reveals to you—patiently waiting as you would for the opening of a beautiful rose." "How do you know when you have successfully done this work? When you feel authentic gratitude for the event. You have finished extracting the blessing energy from a painful event when a) the pain of it is mostly or entirely digested/resolved, and b) you feel deep gratitude for the event, of the kind that makes your heart overflow and tears come to your eyes" I will go sit down myself now and feel into the innate truth I feel in those words. It might not end with a rose opening, but to shine a little light on it every day can slowly make it bloom <3 hareesh.org/blog/2017/7/30/near-enemy-2-everything-happens-for-the-best tantrikstudies.squarespace.com/blog/2017/7/22/near-enemy-1-everything-happens-for-a-reason

The #shadow and #light retreat has finished, but I feel the journey has just begun. So grateful to Anand Rudra for guiding the #rituals of #shamanism and #tantra. The participants was immensely inspiring to me, already knowledgeable with #innerwisdom and ready to #divedeep. I had to face my own shadows and be #vulnerable and open enough to share that emotional pain was still lingering after the retreat. Not so tempting when most people shared #liberating and #expanded states of being. #tantrakriyayoga can give #blissful experiences, remove #blockages and altered states of #consciousness. But tantra also accelerate the learning process, pointing directly at the shadows I unconsciously try to avoid. Remembering that light and #love is always here relief this heavyness which is felt in the #heart, and the #fate in the ones that walked before me keep my #trust in this path. Thank you 🙏

Thanks to all who was there yesterday exploring their shadows. By embracing our shadows we can go deeper within, not fearing the darkness in which our light shine. We can use the projections we put on others as a mirror for our own shadows. In the west, the Tantric chakra system has been combined with psychological structures and shadows. Here is a short overview of some of the themes that were covered, and embodied, with different Tantra Kriya Yoga practices: 1st, cervix/perineal body: Our group instinct, the dependencies on others for survival - in early childhood with our primary caretaker. The shadow is fear, especially around abandonment. This shadow can have huge consequences in adult life, since the emotional intensity of fear is overwhelming for the rational mind, leading to avoidance strategies and suppressing. 2nd, below navel: Relationship and sexual energy, creation. If the energy here is suppressed, the shadow can be expressed in overindulgence in other sense gratifications (Black Friday anyone). The dependency on another person can lead to codependency and enmeshment (over-involvement), forgetting oneself. 3rd, Solar Plexus: Personal power, asserting oneself. Transformation. Shadows can be arrogance, self-righteousness and egotistical. 4rd, Anahata: love and nurturing. The three lower Chakras are dependent on the external world, while here the love comes from within. The shadows are deep-rooted beliefs such as feeling unloved, weak or in a victim role. 5th, throat: Communication and expression. Shadows here are inexpressive (especially emotions) and lying. 6th, third eye: Deeper visions, intuition, inner knowledge. Shadows here are overthinking, prejudice and skeptic. Tantra says: "an enemy is simply an ally viewed in the wrong way". Using our shadows to be aware of samskaras (see earlier post) can help us break the unconscious patterns our mind creates. I'm excited about the retreat next week, but it also means there will be no class this Thursday (next one is, therefore, the 12/12). Thank you 🙏

Lately, I find myself sitting down more often, looking at the unruly mind and its constant chatter, the emotional flare-ups, and the bodily unrest. The watching itself brings relief, not trying to change, a wholehearted acceptance of what is. Sometimes long streams of thoughts and stories, suddenly evaporating into a still place of seeing, with a sweet joy bubbling in the heart. I had a period in my life where I didn't believe it would be necessary with this form of more silent introspection, I misunderstood the truth in "I am already whole and perfect" as if the intellectual knowledge of this would bring any lasting change. At other times I've been convinced that the meditative state was the only true place, that I had to be in a transcendent state as much as possible, avoiding social contact and feeling wrong for being human. In Tantra there is a middle way, to cultivate a meditative state by practices and still engaging with the world in a dynamic and joyful way. Slowly the two aspects, shiva and shakti, are said to merge into one 🙏 Photo (edited): Penabranca

Discernment and the Power of Action: How to perform and discern what is a beneficial behavior? Last Thursday the theme was creation and the Power of Action (kriyā-śakti), but I did not get to share the Tantrik Philosophy behind, so here we go. An action can be taken from different stages the first is the Impurity of Action (kārma-mala): This is based on "cognitive errors", where actions unconsciously are judged as either good or bad - affected by social and cultural programming. Recently I heard a story to describe this principle. A brother and a sister, both adults, are on a vacation together alone. One evening, they decide to have sex together. She is using birth control and he is using protection too. They have an enriching and intimate experience, but both agree that it was only for that night and not to tell anyone. Years later they both feel that this encounter was sacred and that this secret has made their bond even stronger. When presenting this story to most people, they would argue that it is wrong. When asked why the first argument would be that there is a risk of genetic disease in an offspring. But, both used protection, so the risk of having a child was close to non-existence. The next argument would be psychological, that this would cause them some sort of psychological repercussions and possibly destroy their relationship. But in this story this is not the case, both moved on without any moral implications, formed meaningful relationships with others and felt an even closer connection with their sibling. So, was it good or bad? Tantrik philosophy argues that this is often mental constructs, not qualities that inhere in reality itself. These constructs can take the place of deeper and sometimes more time-consuming discernment (see my earlier post). Benefits are always contextual, so there is no inherent answer to a given situation. For example, for many siblings, the above scenario would have damaging psychological effects. Contemplate this for yourself: is there any circumstance in which a ‘bad’ action (up to and including killing) might actually be the right thing to do? Is there any circumstance in which an action usually labeled ‘good’ (such as telling the truth when asked) might actually be harmful? Virtually everyone guilty of genocide, from Columbus to Hitler, thought he was doing the right thing. That is why in the Tantrik way, we release mental constructs of both good and bad, right and wrong, and try to carefully feel into the most beneficial course of action unique to a given situation Contemplate the limitation of our agency, by seeing that we are not in control of anything of significance. You have the power to do whatever is actually required of you in a given situation, and the certain knowledge that whatever you cannot do (for whatever apparent reason) need not be done, at least not by you. Partly taken from an article by Christopher Wallis, translating Rajanaka Kṣemarāja (disciple of Abhinavagupta)

Today I had a presentation at work (Sexological Clinic) to the psychologists and doctors who work here. I introduced the Classical Tantra Philosophy and History, which I've also shared a bit here, and then moved on to talk about new-age tantra with its advantages but also its many pitfalls. I felt a bit like I sometime do when presenting sexology at different hospital departments, that I have to break the wall of taboos and myths - this time with regards to Tantra. But it was very well received and felt a bit awestruck afterwards, to have presented a subject like this at a clinical department! We'll see if i'll keep my job tomorrow 😁

Samskãras: Footprints in the sand are like samskãras; the subliminal impressions from the past, which affect the present moment and our experience of it. When the presence of a wave hits the shore, and flow over the footprints, this affect the way the water flow. Instead of running smooth, the energy of past experiences run through our mind, affected by the deep impressions from the past. This inhibits our ability to be aware of reality as it truly are. In Tantra we strive at developing a clear vision, to see things as they truly are 🙏 (Text inspired by the book: Tantra Illuminated)

Discernment - how to know if I am right? At last Thursday session, I shared about Discernment - the ability to differentiate between choices, right and wrong, beneficial or not and most importantly, mind and awareness. It's something that has stirred inside me in the last weeks. Inspired by my own experiences along with insights from the beautiful book, Tantra Illuminated, this arose. It's stated that Discernment is the highest limp of yoga, the most important faculty. But it's often inaccurate because of our samskaras, i.e. subconscious impression from the past, which veil and affect our interpretation of the present moment. The mind often strives for momentary pleasures (Raga, desire: craving for worldly experiences to fulfill inner void). I have experienced this more often than I would like to admit, suddenly realizing I've gone on auto-pilot and forgetting that any pleasurable experience will cease and that my attachment to it brings along suffering - every mountaintop has its valley. In Tantra "mistakes" become advantages, when seen as opportunities to grow. But these learning processes take time and energy, so Tantra strives to refine and improve the ability to choose what is beneficial. The approach is to develop an ability to see things as they truly are. The philosophy and insights from Tantra can help to give the knowledge to reflect more clearly while meditation can dissolve samskãras, to give a clear vision and discernment as a result. For me, there seems to be wisdom in slowing down, like learning to live anew and taking a bit more time than usual to choose. Choices are not always made from the Discernment of the mind, but also different levels in the body. A "gut instinct" for example, can be a good intuition or based on fearfull samskaras leading us astray, this too we'll have to discern. I keep practicing this art - polishing the Mind-mirror, making it clear to reflect reality as it truly is 🙏

How to let go of someone? How to let go of something? "Drop it" I once heard. But often, the Mind picks it up again, with the emotions that accompany it. So, drop the Mind which holds on to the story about that someone or something - easier said than done. In the ultimate reality, this must be true; no attachments to anything ephemeral. But also at the psychological and emotional level (i.e. the Citta layer in the Tantrik Five Layered Self, see earlier posts), there is a more apparent truth to this, in my own experience. Realizing that the stories Mind creates are often based on distorted ideas, that might have some truth to it, but never is the final truth or the whole picture. How could it, when we start contemplating the endless possibilities the universe creates? It takes Discernment, the ability to judge a situation or thought, and thereby choose the right action (ex. not going with the thought), avoiding getting entangled in a drama and suffering. It's closely linked to Kriya Actions, a term I have described before. Another meditative insight is to let whatever comes come (situations, thoughts, emotions, energies etc.), accepting and acknowledging them, but also letting them go again. To be vulnerable enough to embrace a emotion of hurt or sadness for example, has for me been an efficient way to quickly release the story behind it. To sum it up, my idea about what should have happened is so biased that I can't even begin to comprehend it. Who am I to know what life has in store for me? The more I can let go of the expectation for a certain outcome, the more I can flow with what is, with less struggling. The Tantra Kriya Yoga sessions are a perfect training ground for this. We get to interact with someone and afterwards drop whatever was experienced shortly after, in a new encounter with somebody else or ourselves. Thank you 🙏 Picture: Bruno Penabranca Poem: Rumi

We have now entered November and I'll be sharing new tools from Ancient Tantra Kriya Yoga! We will still use the knowledge and practices gained before, but with new practices added. And even if you are new it's still possible to gain something from each class individually. This is a time for reflection and introspection - acknowledging our past patterns to be free of them and avoiding doing any unconsidered changes in our life. By using discernment and contemplation we can gain valuable insights into what lies ahead. The Cobra breath (beginners level) will rejuvenate our energy - which might feel low in this time period. Nadi Shodana (alternate nostril breath) will help us to gain clarity - an opportunity to put a spotlight on our subconscious mind. By doing these practices together, we have the possibility of seeing our projections (unconscious material transferred onto someone else) and mirrorings (others reflect our hidden emotions and feelings, which allows us to recognize them; if we are aware), hereby ending the projection of our shadows upon others and reclaiming them. By embracing our shadows and heightening our frequency, we can perform actions that serve a greater good (kriya actions). None of this would be possible without the power of consciousness (awareness) and bliss (independent of any object or situation). Ketchari Mudra (tongue lock), can help in this process, elevating the energy to higher fields and entering blissful states of universal awareness. Humbled and excited to share these teachings with you 🙏 Namaste, Mikkel Photo: Rob Woodcox

Many faces in the One mirror. What do you see when you look at your own reflection? The outer appearance, a mood written on your face, confirmations of the stories you are telling yourself? I've done and still do it oftentimes, the changefulness of this life experience written in the way I perceive myself, day by day. But, when I give myself a little more time, something else emerges. "The One you are looking for is the One who is looking" - St Francis of Assisi So most observations won't do, especially not the one trying to explain the identified point of view. The mirror does not have any opinions about its reflection, and neither do I - when I find that quiet space within. In the same way, we are reflections of each other when eye gazing in The Tantra Kriya Yoga classes. Usually, we are probably more concerned about what we are looking at, than where we are looking from. But these go hand in hand, what I see in the other is a reflection of myself. Take this to a broader context in everyday life. What judgment do I have of the faces around me? Are there really any absolutes?, Good/bad, right/wrong, pretty/ugly, these belong to dualism - which in the Tantric view is a distorted view on life and Truth. So even though we might appear different, I try to remember; see the One mirrored in the many faces ❤️ Tomorrow the program for the November classes will be posted, and yes, it aligns with this post 🙏

The 4th layer in The Tantrik Five Layered Self is the Prana layer. A layer that we often explore in Tantra Kriya Yoga, since it's a quick way to work through our outer layers (material, bodily, emotion/mind) into the deeper layer (Meditative state, Transcendental Void). The energetical layer is beyond the individual personality; all beings share this same life-force (prana). But, if we overidentify with this layer, we become victim of our moods, as explained in the diagram. We can also become "energy addicted" i.e. constantly striving for new energy experiences or constantly search for new partners to take their energy. We might end up being attached to this layer, not wanting to go deeper because the pleasures and bliss can be so delightful. As with all the layers, we do well in remembering that energy is also ephemeral, it comes and goes like the wind in the empty space. This is not the final reality, but it's a powerful tool to show us a deeper truth of existence, which goes beyond our physical and psychological reality. In the next session, this Thursday, we will rise up the energy with some powerful practices to explore this layer. Diagram and text (edited): Christopher Wallis Picture: Rob Woodcox

A different take on boundaries: In many tantric communities there seems to be a misunderstanding; the Boundless Transcendent Void (which will be explained in another post) is misinterpreted as breaking down all boundaries. In Tantra, you might start feeling an expansion of boundaries, but breaking down boundaries will most likely cause (re-)traumatisation, psychological breakdown, dissociation etc. Also, an expansion of boundaries in classical Tantra is not seen as being manifested sexually as it is in neo-tantra. The (over)focusing on sex seems to be more a reaction to the taboos and myths that still surrounds sexuality, which is fine but also has caused many misunderstandings about what Tantra is. To become more aware in general, will include our sexual energies, which can lead to new patterns of interactions with others and ourself. Interactions not based on desires, but feeling into if this serves a higher good - i.e. not karma actions but kriya actions, for their own sake, an expression of divine nature instead of means to an end. It's not always easy, but this view has helped me lately. Not seeking love outside of myself and realizing the more I expand and open up, the more love can express itself inside. Things is not always as I imagined or hoped for, but there is a sweetness in the pain of letting go. To trust and realize that no external objects can make you happy. "Whatever comes, let it come, what stays let stay, what goes let go" - Papaji

Dear all. Thank you so much for last night - was beautiful to witness the safety and integrity in the energetic exchanges. As promised, here are some information shared by one of the other participants. It explains the Wheel of Consent in more depth. It might seem confusing/too theoretical to begin with, but I can highly recommend to give yourself the 11 minutes it takes to watch it. The video gives a good feel of difference ways we can touch each other (be it physical, verbal, emotional or energetical): youtu.be/7r29qKE1AxM Also what is called shadow sides are something that correlates with the immature feminine and masculine from Tantra, which I shortly mentioned. And as another participant pointed to, it's true that the energy exchange sometimes can fuse, where the giver and receiver becomes one. But as long as we wear this human garment, we will experience these different dynamics on the material plane in their beautiful and varied expressions and with a constant dance between them.

The third layer of the Tantrik Five Layered Self: Heart (emotion) & Mind - Citta: The first point to stress is that Mind and Emotions is not seen as separate in the Tantrik philosophy, but as two ends of the same spectrum. We can talk (verbalized thoughts) about feelings, and feel (Emotions) strongly about certain ideas (Thoughts). This does now mean that there isn't any value in getting more in touch with our feelings since most of us are mostly identified with the Mind. But, the idea that emotions are more true than a thought, can be quite luring at times - an emotion can be just as biased as a thought, and it can be more difficult to realize (in the prana layer, it will also be explained how energies can affect especially our emotions). When I started reading about tantras insights into the mind, I was quite awestruck of the system presented, and that it has so many similarities with Cognitive based Therapy, which is one of the most evidence-based psychotherapies in the west , but Tantra goes way deeper than staying at the psychological realm. In Tantra, it is said, that the mind prefers comfort and familiarity over the unknown, therefore it repeat certain patterns in an attempt to stabilize the mental (and emotional) changefulness, which threatens the status quo. The mind can be good in solving practical tasks, but when we believe its stories about who we are and its story of reality, we get a distorted, oversimplified and overgeneralized world view, which blinds us to a deeper truth. The veil of the mind seems hard to remove, and I am still working on it, both by myself and when facilitating Tantra Kriya Yoga. One aspect of the group practices that amazes me is that the mind tends to go blank without any effort from my side when the group-energy has been synchronized. I could go on about this layer but will let my mind get some rest know 🙂

The next layer in the Tantrik Five Layered Self is the physical body. What I find intriguing in Tantra is that we don't try to limit the senses by only focusing inwardly in meditation - we acknowledge the body as a beautiful temple in which the Divine dwells. But over-identification with the body will lead to suffering, one day you feel strong and healthy, the next day you are struggling with some ailment. It is said, that the more we recognize our own being, the more we treat our body with respect and reverence - i.e. we eat healthy, have clearer boundaries and only allow people near us, who respect and honor us. Some of the principles in the picture might seem a bit lofty, but they can remind us of where the practice of Tantra might take us. For example through asanas (poses), kriyas (actions) and pranayama (breathing), we align the body into new experiences of reality that might challenge the way we see our bodies, as an isolated mass in the universe. The "Right View" is a term used in Tantra to remind us, that we need to have some orientation to where we are going - else we might end up doing lots of practices and preparations, but walking in the wrong direction. So, even though I feel myself far away from some of the statements presented, I believe they can help my discernment. As it's stated, all the layers of the Tantrik Five Layered Self can be perceived in the body, and through the different practices in Tantra Kriya Yoga, we have the possibility of experiencing that. Last Thursday I shortly shared the theory behind the Tantrik Five Layered Self, before we moved on to the actual practices. Here are some notes from the first layer - the material world. In many traditions, we are told to shun the outer world, go to a cave or an ashram, to not distract our introspection. In Tantra renunciation is not practiced, but instead using all the faculties of existence to look behind the illusions we've created and thus negating that layer of reality, and going deeper within the layers. It is said that in the final realization, all layers are seen to be part of the same Consciousness, so what begins with negation ends with a full embrace of all the layers. In the next days I will post the different layers presented in this system: Material World - Physical Body - Heart and Mind - Energetical Body - Transcendental Void - Cit. The Tantrik Five Layered Self is one of many systems in Tantra. Each of the systems has a slightly different way of describing reality but at the same time points to the same essence <3

This Thursday we'll explore the Tantrik Five Layered Self in theory and practice. This is one of the fundamental systems to understand which qualities we identify with, from the most gross (the outer, material world) to the subtlest (the transcendent void). What I find beautiful in Tantra is that none of these layers is seen as more superior to the others, each has its positive and negative qualities. We might move deeper in the layers in time, but Consciousness, the Absolute, doesn't distinguish between them - and the outer layer, the physical body, is the only one with the capability of experiencing all the deeper layers ♥ Photography : Rob Woodcox Diagram: Christopher Wallis

If you want to get a good overview of the essence of Tantra and its history, I highly recommend this video. It gives a great explanation of some of the main elements of non-dual tantra and where some of the misunderstandings arose from. Next class I will share insights from a recent text I read on the Tantrik Five Layered Self, since it resonated deeply 🙏 Have a lovely weekend ♥ youtu.be/W0n8REA-myE

"I need to be strong". A statement I heard spoken recently from an interesting and deep encounter. It's also something I still tell myself, or at least feel in my gut, but the mental concept of being strong often leads to quite the opposite of what we might imagine. In tantra, karmic actions (i.e. actions performed with a desire for a particular outcome), can be transcended by offering our actions as a service or sacrifice, without attachment to a particular outcome - something that I feel is true vulnerability. If we have a checklist with criterias for being successful, loveable, good enough, it often ends if with an endless struggle to live up to our own imaginary standards. There is nothing wrong with high standards and aspirations per se, but if our value depends on that, then life will make sure we'll experience the amount of suffering necessary for us to wake up from this illusion. Without going to deep into the psychological mechanism at play (and I wouldn't know them all), it is often something we taught ourself in early childhood, based on our primary caretakers. Most children have experienced some kind of abandonment, being more or less apparent and as either emotional, psychological or physical. This often accomplished the belief, that in order to be accepted and loved, I will have to perform in a certain way, i.e. I'm not good enough, my accomplishments determines my true value and "love-ability". Fast forward to adult life, most of us still has this inherent feeling that I am not quite good enough as I am, I need to improve and perform better. Again, nothing wrong with wanting to learn and grow, but notice the two different foundations: I'm inherently wrong vs. I'm inherently loveable, but can learn more about myself and life. To be vulnerable is to not filter my emotions as good or bad. To honor myself by speaking my truth, even when I risk rejection or disagreements. It's not always to be right, but to share how we feel in the moment thereby acknowledging ourself and the other. My own experience is that this can lead to surprising turns of events and release blockages mentally, emotional and physical. Yes it's scary and uncomfortable, but the more I open up the more life feels as a wonder and not just a struggle to keep own worldview in place. So when to speak up? When you start sensing emotions or physical signals from your body (tight throat, heavy chest, breathing changes, gut feeling etc), it's probably time to express something you would rather hide ♥️ Namaste, Mikkel 🙏

Fire have different meaning in the tantric philosophy. In fire ceremonies (puja) we burn that which does not serve us, by putting our intention in a object, and offer it to the fire. Another meaning is the manipura chakra. Matter (earth element), movement & prana (life force energy, breath) combined creates fire, our personal power. We will use different asanas and breathings in collaboration, to rise this fire energy in our system. This will be the last introduction class, in October level 1 begins with the basics of tantra in theory and practices (program posted in the event). Looking forward to see you - feel FREE to bring a friend!

Tantra Kriya Yoga can work with the Heart on many different levels. - On the physical level we can change the heart rhytm to a more relaxed slower pace. - On the emotional level you might experience a letting go and a opening up. - On the energetical level the heart is said to be the meeting point for the "lower" and "higher" energies (i.e. Both in the body and outside) - Most importantly, in non-dual Tantra; the heart is another name for your true nature, who you are: "Your heart is the Light of this world. Don't let your mind hide it" - Mooji See you tonight 🙏

I visited the new location yesterday and was awestruck with the space and the atmosphere. A perfect setting to support us on this Journey. The first step is the most significant, and all that is required to make a new beginning. I'm very grateful to my friend Penelope will be there to assist <3 To bow down in prayer is one of the most powerful "yoga" poses, in my experience. Not to worship an external God, but to dissolve the arrogance of the ego and surrender to the Universe: “The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are.” - Rumi Event link: www.facebook.com/events/514143246001638/

A conversation with a friend yesterday let me to contemplate about areas of my life where I've been closing down emotionally as a coping strategy. Putting up barriers as a way to avoid conflict, but with huge consequences internally and externally. Luckily, the universe and my surroundings make sure that the status quo isn't maintained and slowly there have been cracks in the dam I build. Emotional barriers are often developed in childhood and adolescence as a way to avoid getting hurt by the ones we love when our needs were not met. We believed we had to look outward to find love, the safest way to avoid the hurt was to close our hearts. Emotional barriers are one extreme of a spectrum, where the other end is a complete lack of boundaries. The idea that if I'm open to everyone I'll get met with love and affection. This too can be damaging, because not everyone will serve our best interest, and some will take advantage of our naivety and trust. So, as it often is, there must be a middle ground, which consists of a healthy set of boundaries. These boundaries are not fixed, and in my own experience, it takes time to even realize what my boundaries should be at a given moment. They change with different persons, time and situations/settings. in Tantra, it saddens me to see so many examples of people having their boundaries broken, which is sometimes even encouraged by the teachers as a way to overcome the ego-mind. But in my view, this is a complete misunderstanding of what Tantra teaches us- yes the ego-mind is limited, and the limits might expand in due time, but Tantra's focus is to go deeper than the duality of limits/no-limits. In the beginning, it's not easy to navigate boundaries, sometimes we want something that isn't serving our higher interest, and we ignore our own intuition and might regret it later. There are so many facets to this and it's a balance on a razor's edge, a constant checking in. It is something that has to be taken into consideration in all situations where people engage intimately. If not, there is a risk of re-traumatization or closing down instead of expansion. In my Tantra Kriya Yoga sessions, we will explore tools that help us navigate in this field - to set healthy boundaries and not break them down; but they might get expanded. And yes, sometimes we fall, but this falling can be the push we needed to learn and grow: The way of love is not a subtle argument. The door there is devastation. Birds make great sky-circles of their freedom. How do they learn it? They fall, and falling, they're given wings. ~ Rumi

"You need to get a healing session, your 3rd chakra is completely dead"! There is a lot of controversy in the spiritual world when it comes to all the healing and counselling being offered. One can't help to feel that it - at times - has become a business to point out the weaknesses in others and then offer help. Going deeper, offering help can be a subtle way of bypassing looking at our own problems: A giving as a way to forget. It can also be a way to feel better about ourself, as someone that heal others. The "Tantric Symptom", in its one extreme, is a teacher (or healer) who - like a vampire - sucks the energy from others in order to feed their own spiritual ego: A giving in order to get. It takes integrity, honesty and humility to not go down that path - and some good honest friends who can call you out if you start to. It's important to check in and watch out for the alluring effects of power and feelings of superiority. It's is a fine line between wanting to help others and at the same time acknowledging, that we rarely can know exactly what it is that someone else needs to get better. Perhaps we can alleviate some momentary pain, but perhaps the pain experienced can be the biggest transformation taking place within. If someone keeps going to healings it can be a sign that there is something within that they have not dared to look at and worked through themselves. Most importantly though is not to fall into the victim role if realizing that someone has taken advantage of you. We all have an inherent capacity to distinguish between "right and wrong", but sometimes we "choose" not to and blame others for having taken advantage of us. Even though it might be true that someone has mistreated you, the best way to grow from there is to look within and ask yourself: "how did I not feel that this person was not serving my best interest? What am I not seeing in myself?" This could be a powerful tool to heal yourself.

This might sound provoking, oversimplificing or donwright wrong - but the truth behind it has been shared through the times in all ancient spiritual practices. "You say the mind is blocking the Self. Can the mind block the Self? What watches blocked mind? Is there anything that the mind is blocking that you need to see? You are always reporting about what you are looking at, but the important thing is: Where are you looking from? And who are you looking as? This is your moment to look from This as This itself. The great Saint Frances of Assisi said: What we are looking for is where we are looking from. Rumi also said: I was knocking on a door. It opens. I was knocking from inside." ~ Mooji ~ Well, this is perhaps easier said than done and doens't mean that I don't have any feeling of obstacles in my own life. But as I alluded to yesterday about "the right view"; to have an understanding or intuition about this deeper truth underlying the surface of what I might belief to be true, can help a movement in the "right" direction. So I'm not suggesting you get a new non-dual spiritual bypass, that just says "all is One", "nothing can affect me", "I'm beyond thoughts and emotions". It's not about what you say or think, but how you actually experience life. To know that the one working with blockages and healing themself are till in the phenomenal, and that spirituality actually goes beyond this, can serve as a huge shift in the perception and experience of life - but if not, that is fine too. Don't force any concept, but feel your way through and flow with the stream, they all lead to the same ocean <3

Today I read in Tantra Illumined about why orientation to the view - the right view - is so important. Abhinavagupta (a mystic from Kashmir, India in 10th century) spoke very wisely about this. Imagine you practice yoga with the idea that something is wrong with you that need to be fixed - you are not good enough as you are. Then yoga can only take you so far, because there is a misalignment between the reality of the practice and your distorted idea of it. Yoga will only fulfill this limited purpose based on the limitations of your mind - i.e. I will have to practice yoga, or other spiritual practices, in order to be good enough and fixed. This will have a cummulative effect, a constant striving to perfect something that will never be perfect if you keep holding on to this limited worldview. ' On the other hand, if you realize that you are already perfect and the practice of yoga are only a means to remove the obstacles to experiencing this truth that is already here, then yoga can take you all the way home ❤️ So doing yoga, or any other form of sincere spiritual practice, with limited beliefs about yourself can be a quite fruitless path - like having all the right running gear and stamina, but running in the "wrong" direction. On the 19 septemer I will start sharing the knowledge from the kaula tantric trandition in an experimental way - i.e. don't believe what I say, experience within yourself 🙏

Often it is very subtle, the way we tend to judge others for not being spiritual enough, conscious enough or perhaps environmental enough. But, you can stand your ground and speak from your heart without condemning others. Your message will be received by the heart if spoken from the heart, even if people might disagree. Speaking from concepts and ideas about how things should be will often have aggressive energy luring in the back, perhaps not consciously, but energetically. When we read, feel or experience something new that touches us deeply, we might feel and impulse that everyone should be on our boat. Don't be too quick to conclude that your present worldview will hold through forever, remember how changeful you and life are, what you believe to be the one and only truth, might change tomorrow. Non-judging is not something that is done overnight, most of us have the chatter of our mind telling us how we and others should be. Life gets easier and simpler when we divide the world into good and bad, right and wrong - but it keeps the relativity, the unknown and the mystery at a distance in exchange for control and familiarity. Give a silent namaste to the people you find most disgraceful, salute the deeper divine in them and yourself. It doesn't mean you have to put up with everything, but that you acknowledge that life moves in mysterious ways that we not always comprehend. What seems wrong when looked on isolated, might turn out to facilitate the most extraordinary changes in someone else. Humility is often overlooked in our fast-paced world and even seen as a weakness. But, if you are striving for inner wisdom, deep joy and peacefulness unaffected by outer circumstances, you might want to go against the herd. Let this quote sink as deep as you allow it, it could change your life: “Whatever is destined not to happen will not happen, try as you may. Whatever is destined to happen will happen, do what you may to prevent it. This is certain. The best course, therefore, is to remain silent” - Ramana Maharshi

A must listen - Why love breaks us open! Amazing podcast about relationships and attachments styles (anxious, avoidant, avoidant/anxious, secure). Some of the themes are: Chasing love (anxious) or running away from it (avoidaint) or constantly change (avoidant /anxious)? Anxious people often date avoidant people, to unconsciously validate our own stories and world view (ex. the other always run away). Ask yourself : "if I was enough, what would I do. If I believe I was worthy and safe, what would I do" "when I love people they.." "when I let other people love me they...." Everyone can muster 10 seconds of courage, and that's often all it takes to change you life . Look at the space between you, and see if you have made space for someone to step in. It's about vulnerability and not loosing yourself. If it feels scary, you are on the right track <3 I highly recommend to listen. Some of these mechanism can emerge when we meet in Tantra Kriya Yoga, a safe space to explore but also go deeper, under the psychological and emotional currents running through. Many of us were drawn to the spiritual world in search for alternatives to the material world and the suffering it caused. However, I sometimes sense that many of the same mechanisms, beliefs and human idiosyncrasies repeat themselves, but covered up in the term "spirituality", making them less apparent and perhaps more self-deceptive. I imagine most of us can relate to this striving for achievements, but it might be to fulfill a deep longing to be accepted and loved by our surroundings and hereby ourselves. It can be a subtle bypass of looking deeper into the psychological mechanisms at play - the whole educational system could be viewed as an extended longing for acceptance and acknowledgment from our parents. There is nothing wrong with evolving and achievements themselves, but the intentions and emotions luring underneath are at times bypassed in a constant hunt for "spiritual growth". To quote the sages of our time, there is a deeper truth, unaffected of anything this world might offer: "Human beings search for greatness through human concepts and achievements. A sage may have nothing, but just by mere presence alone, he draws the attention of those who have even a spark of attraction to the Supreme. The sage doesn't take you to university—he pulls you into the Universal" ~ Mooji

To the ones who speak danish, here is an article from todays Politiken that I wrote. It came as a response to an advertisement from the datingsite scor.dk, who stated "To get an erection is to live". Well, as you might imagine, I don't agree 😉 Feel free to share! politiken.dk/del/4EzMbkAAFQSA At få rejsning er at leve.

Wow! Just been to Finland for the Sacred Earth Festival; The Journey of the Soul. Difficult to express the joy bubbling in the heart, grateful to Anand Rudra, the other facilitators and all the lovely souls there. Such a beautiful setting, sorrounded by forest, open fields, lake, sweat lodge, beautiful food and beatiful people, creating space for both connecting with others and myself. So, what do I take away with me this time? I can see a tendency to be less and less attached, even to my own desires. The actual experience of less suffering when engaging and disengaging with others feels grately liberating. Daring to express desires, but not expecting anything in return, like Petra (the mother of the land) said, what is the fun in taking from someone who doesn't want to give? Again I had the recognition that the less I mentally aim for something the more free and alive I feel, and that vibration, I believe, guides beautiful encounters if they are meant to happen.. There were also small stings of wanting and pride, but insignificantly small compared to the past, what a blessing. So paradoxically, the more I stay with myself, the easier and carefree I connect with others, enjoying the beautiful dream of life. This song was played at the festival and moved something inside, representing the beautiful journey : open.spotify.com/track/7ehIxbkcQjTjpi061mbYxQ?si=Hbt24er8RUyHUMct7xD53A Listen how it gets sweeter and sweeter, just like life, when we follow our calling ♥️ Can't wait to share more of the wisdom from tantra after the summer 🙏 And if you are still considering going for the S.O.U.R.C.E retreat I can not recommend it enough, Anand is beyond words, mindblowing, and will facilitate a life transforming experience. Thank you

We can focus on the surface, the apparent reality of this visible world, and the invisible world within. Something deep in the ocean and deep within is calling us, it feels like jumping into the unknown, it's scary and intriguing. Perhaps we'll never surface again, too much grace in the dark blue sea, as the sea, as the seer. Sometimes I silently pray for someone to push me ♥️

This quote by Rumi resonate well with my insights from the tantra festival, here is the journey, from beginning to end: First, how quickly I get caught in old patterns of thinking and acting, old fears coming to the surface, when given the possibility to engage in new encounters. So called temple nights made a scene for the drama of life. A desire for connection, but not knowing exactly with who or how, old patterns of withdrawal. - A Voice within whisper; "you can go deeper than that" - It became obvious that the duality is in all these games, the wish to connect deeply and the fear or rejection, the difference between choosing to be alone and loneliness. When forgetting the inner connection, everything becomes grey and lifeless. Certain ideas arose the first days, on how to navigate, how to overcome. Sharing in family-groups helped to see that most of us have these human struggles, underneath were the skin a longing for something more, outwardly it takes many different forms; "I'm strong", "I'm a victim", "I'm smart", "I'm spiritual".. - Again a voice; "come deeper" - Pleasures and pains, as long as there is a desire for something or someone this illusion will play. The pleasure is innocent, but when mind grasp on to it and equate it with happiness, it will be an endless strive. It is so obvious, and yet still most of us are caught in this play. Slowly the need for connection fades, the beauty behind the flesh starts to emerge. We live in a society where nudity equates sexuality, when in reality, it's so innocent and pure. Sexuality too can be purity itself, when the desire is no longer present, the beauty behind starts to appear. - The voice continues; "deeper" - At first the mind searched for physical connections, the looking itself castes a shadow of my own light. When the search end, and I bow down, the light can shine. Energetic connections with no expectations or intentions emerge, but how to convince this reading faculty called mind, which uses intellect, reason and cause-effect? Still, behind, a deeper knowing is smiling, you might not believe, but that is not necessary either - just see what life offers when you let her. - The voice turns to laughter - Even in deep connections time plays its role, nothing lasts and even the most blissful encounters will pass. Then what can you actually do? Run endlessly after them, interchanging between hunger and satiety. When will I have enough. Even the sweetest wine turn bitter with time. So, should we just stop wanting? Well, I can't stop my tendencies with will, they gain charge when suppressed. But I can contemplate more on the the truth of these wants and longings, looking to what lies underneath, might be that someday a turning inside out happens; this is my true longing. - The voice returns to silence -

Dear all. Very excited to announce this retreat on Møn island with Anand Rudra! This event will go deep within and always felt an awe and astonishment of the wisdom he shares. In Tantra, these days, one of the most important qualitis of the teacher is integrity and Anand always manages to create a safe environment both supportive and expanding. Along with the very rare and powerful techniques being offered, I can only recommend anyone curious about discovering the wisdom from Tantra and Shamanish in an autentich and embodied way to explore this path. Much love, Mikkel m.facebook.com/events/384269208852792?acontext=%7B%22ref%22%3A%2298%22%2C%22action_history%22%3A%22null%22%7D&aref=98

Soon I will be going to this festival where my teacher Anand Rudra and many others will be sharing their knowledge! I've never been to a tantra festival before and had my reservations about it, but as Anand said, "you decide your own experience" - which include level of boundaries, socializing, energetic exchanges etc. My intention is to go without expectations og judgements, but deeper into myself, to find that still and ever true place, independent of outer circumstances _/\_ Namaste, Mikkel

Dear Men! This Thursday 23/5 I will collaborate with the powerful priestess Penélope who will share her knowledge about the divine feminine. In this gathering I will share some Tantra Kriya Yoga techniques to get in touch with our feminine energy, Shakti, our true Self - which ultimately have no gender. We sometimes block out the feminine aspect of our conscious experience in order to be "real" men, a conditioning brought to us by culture and history. Looking forward to see you. Namaste, Mikkel

This quote appeared after a talk with a TKY participant today, about striving for perfection in yoga and in life, instead of letting go. We are very used to having a firm grip on life, but this very holding hides the beauty inside our clenched hand. It might seem paradoxical to tell yoga students not to work hard at their practice, but in my believe this practicing can sometimes obscure the very thing we are looking for. Before yoga there was tantra, before tantra there was beingness... this very being was what inspired tribes (Dravidians) to get together in ritualistic practices, celebrating what already was. Feeling into it, we are not doing any set of practices to get to anywhere, we are already there, and tantra is celebrating that, here and now, not in some future. Thank you, love you 🙏 ♥

This Wednesday we'll be getting on the ground and do more sitting asanas. These poses make it possible to get more in touch with the earth, our pelvic floor and beyond. The resurrection story of Jesus can be understood in many ways, one is to die to the old and wake up to our true Self 🙏 Event link: m.facebook.com/events/596111297495845

The word "group magic" suddenly makes sense on a very deep level. Thanks to all who was there last Wednesday - a beautiful and profound example of where we can go when synchronized and in flux. ⁣ ⁣ S. H. Foulkes - the founder of group analysis - spoke about the group matrix: ⁣ "the hypothetical web of communication and relationship that determines the meaning and significance of all events in the group and upon which all verbal and non-verbal communications exist". He later went on to say it was impossible to perceive or disentangle. It works in many dimensions, both the psychological (silent transmissions of moods, resonance, transference, projection etc.) and at a suprapersonal psychic level; like transpersonal processes that go through individuals like X Rays, ⁣ ⁣ The above descriptions resonate a lot with the sharing that took place after the session. Thank you all for being a part of this intricate world matrix!⁣ ⁣ Next session 17/4: www.facebook.com/events/596111267495848/?event_time_id=596111297495845

This Wednesday we will explore more of the standing asanas used in ATKY. There is a hidden power doing these poses in groups. The focus, intensity, support, emotions, psyche, body, mirrors, projections, pleasures, pains and other subtle energies all gets enhanced and transformed quicker than possible for the individual. Be it joyful or challenging, the intention is to recognize the ephemeral and accept what is unfolding without expectations or attachments to any experience. Looking forward to meet you 🙏 Event link: www.facebook.com/events/596111267495848/?ti=as
